Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming town situated in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. The West Island, to those who have never heard of it, is a vast area that extends from Lachine to the west. Amanda Brugel grew up on the island and is often known as the place where she was born. But she only resided there for a very short period of time. Brugel lived in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. She initially wanted to be an actor, However, following a dramatic increase in size, her friends were no longer able to dance with her. The article she wrote about her experience revealed published by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. After I surpassed my male counterparts and gave up, I decided to give up. Many former dancers turn into acting. In the case of Brugel it was an urging from her teacher of drama. The teacher recommended that she take part in an audition for the annual school production. She was able to audition and be cast as Anne of Green Gables. It led to her receiving the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts at York University. In the 20+ years since Brugel has landed roles on over 60 shows on the big and small screens. She attracted the most attention when she landed the role of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the character Rita in The Handmaid's Tale, a series that was filming over 10 years ago.
